About

Mifune

Head Chef Akira Mifune has spent most of his life making sushi, apprenticing under many of Japan's most revered chefs. Mifune came to Toronto, Canada in December of 1999 and spent most of his time travelling the country as a rogue sushi chef, creating pop-up restaurants where he pleased. After over a decade of nomadic sushi making, Mifune has returned to Toronto to bless the city with his delicate art.

Akira Mifune has reached the point in his career, or perhaps life, where he is his own master. He designs his own signature dishes to serve through Bijin Sushi on a rotating menu. Now, apprentice chefs from around the world travel to Toronto to seek out Mifune for his tutilage and guidance, including celebrities Toby McGuire, Keith Richards, and Jonah Hill.

Bijin Sushi was founded in December of 2014 and plans to stay for years to come.
